Recently, the invention patent of a method for mass reproduction of bullhead snapper, which was granted by researcher Wang Xuejie of the ornamental Fisheries Research Office of the Pearl River Fisheries Research Institute, has been granted the national invention patent with the patent number ZL 2019 1 0220397.8
Bullhead snapper is a common species of tropical ornamental fish, belonging to the family Cichlidae of Perciformes. Its breeding method is called "half mouth incubation", which is a protected breeding method with high hatching rate and survival rate. However, because the fry are small and the survival rate is very low under general conditions, the reproductive efficiency of bullhead snapper is low under non artificial incubation conditions, and there was a lack of economically valuable batch breeding methods in the past. The invention patent solves the technical keys of high-efficiency collection of fertilized eggs for artificial incubation and shortening the breeding interval, and can be used for high-efficiency mass production of a variety of half hatching types and slate spawning types of tropical fish. It is a new production technology with high practical value.
