The Laboratory of Aquatic Product Quality and Safety (QS) and Standardization wasestablished in 2017,specializing on aquatic product QS detection and inspection technology, fisheries environmental safety monitoring and evaluation, risk assessment for aquatic product QS, and drafting and revising relevant standards. Fruitful achievements have been made in researches on the determination of malachite green and nitrofurazone in turbot, snakehead and mandarinfish, and risk assessment of antibacterials and environmental pollutants in aquatic products. It consists of two research platforms, the Aquatic Germplasm Supervision and Testing Center (Guangzhou), MOA andthe Laboratory of Risk Assessment for Aquatic Product Quality and Safety (Guangzhou), MOA. The lab consists of 10 in-service staffs, including 3 professors/associate professors, 7 assistant professors. 3 master's supervisors were appointed. By January 2018, 8 master candidates had been graduated. It is equipped with more than 30 sets of instruments such as atomic absorption spectrometer, atomic fluorescence spectrometer, gas chromatograph, gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer, liquid chromatograph, liquid chromatograph-mass spectrometer, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, flow cytometry, amino acid analyzer, nucleic acid and protein detection apparatus, and quantitative fluorescence PCR.
