On August 27, 2020, the Pearl River Fisheries Research Institute invited relevant experts to carry out on-site acceptance of the comparative test of the productive growth of "all male Hybrid Snakehead with black spot" jointly cultivated by the Pearl River Institute and Foshan Nanhai Bairong aquatic breeding Co., Ltd. The acceptance expert committee is composed of academician Zhu Zuoyan and researcher Hu Wei of Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, researcher Hu Chaoqun of Institute of South China Sea oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, researcher Liu Yingjie and researcher Fang Hui of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences.
The acceptance expert group listened to the work report of the project group, checked the relevant records, and carried out on-site sampling measurement. The results showed that the average body weight of all male Hybrid Snakehead was 1493.1g, the average body length was 44.7cm, and the male rate was 96.7%. The average body weight of control group was 1132.1g, the average body length was 40.3cm, and the male rate was 53.3%. The average body weight of all male Hybrid Snakehead increased by 31.89% compared with the original Hybrid Snakehead.
After on-site discussion, the expert group believes that "all male Hybrid Snakehead with black spot" has greatly increased the proportion of large-scale and high-quality commercial fish, reduced feed cost by 8-10%, and achieved remarkable effect in increasing yield, income and cost saving. It is an important target variety for the transformation and upgrading of aquaculture at present. It is unanimously agreed that it has passed the on-site acceptance. At the same time, the project team is encouraged to carry out research on important scientific issues and key technologies from the perspective of industrial chain, lead the innovative development of the whole industrial chain, and boost the upgrading of China's aquatic seed industry, green development of aquaculture and Rural Revitalization Project.
