Key Laboratory ofRecreational Fisheries, Ministry of Agricuture and RuralAreas, relying on the Pearl River Fisheries Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, is a component unit of urban agriculture discipline group of the Ministry of agriculture. Based on the major strategic needs of the national modern agricultural development, focusing on solving the fundamental, directional, overall and key scientific and technological problems in the development of leisure fishery as the main line, and taking the research on the whole industrial chain of leisure fishery and the construction of discipline system as the goal, the independent innovation ability of China's leisure fishery science and technology is promoted, and the aquaculture, engineering technology and key scientific and technological problems needed by the society are cultivated The leisure fishery scientific research talents such as aquarium management provide technical platform and service platform for the development of leisure fishery in China. The main research directions of the laboratory are breeding and breeding of ornamental aquatic organisms, development and sustainable utilization of recreational fishery resources, industrial planning, policy and management of recreational fishery.
The director of the laboratory is researcher Hu Yinchang, and the director of the academic committee is academician GUI Jianfang. At present, there are 22 fixed staff in the laboratory, including 6 researchers, 8 associate researchers, 12 tutors for master's degree, 10 with doctor's degree and 8 with master's degree. The laboratory has formed a scientific research team with complete professional structure and reasonable level collocation, mainly young and middle-aged people.
